The Handmade Process

Each pair is handcrafted personally by artist Lisa Ramos in her Clayton, California studio. Lisa’s design philosophy is focused on creating high quality jewelry pieces you can wear for years to come.

The handmade process includes cutting metal components, hand sculpting, forming, hammering, refining the surfaces, and polishing before final assembly.

The MONOLISA Collection is not mass produced or sold in retail stores. Pieces are available exclusively on this website or at select fine art juried shows throughout California. Lisa’s mission is to design beautifully handmade limited edition pieces that add a touch of elegance to any personal style.

What Is Argentium® Silver?

Argentium® silver is a premium silver alloy that is more pure than traditional sterling silver. Earlier Argentium® silver formulations contained 93.6% pure silver, and in 2024 the alloy was updated to 94% purity.

California artist Lisa Ramos uses Argentium® silver in select MONOLISA handmade jewelry designs because of its durability, brightness, tarnish resistance, and refined appearance.

Argentium® silver is also valued for being hypoallergenic. The Argentium® silver used in MONOLISA designs is made in the USA and ethically sourced.

What Is Gold Filled Jewelry?

Gold filled jewelry is created by bonding a thick layer of real gold to a base metal, typically brass, using heat and pressure. This process permanently fuses the metals together, resulting in a durable material that looks and wears like high-karat gold.

By law, gold filled jewelry must contain at least 5% gold by weight (1/20th gold), which is significantly more than gold plated jewelry that only has a thin surface layer.

The result is a beautiful, long-lasting material designed to be worn and enjoyed for many years.

What Are Faceted Cut Crystals?

MONOLISA designs feature some of the world’s finest precision-cut crystals, selected for their brilliance, clarity, and ability to catch the light. Each crystal is cut with multiple facets that reflect light from different angles, creating depth, sparkle, and dimension. The collection includes a variety of elegant cuts—such as pear, emerald, princess, round brilliant, and custom sculptural shapes—paired with a range of color palettes from soft iridescent hues to bold, vibrant tones.
