Artist Mentorship Initiative
Real-World Experience With a Working California Artist
MONOLISA is developing a mentorship opportunity for college students interested in gaining real-world experience within an independent art business.
This experience offers a behind-the-scenes look, built from years of hands-on experience—from design and handmade production to art shows, customer interaction, sales, and the physical labor that often goes unseen.
This program is currently in development as Lisa begins building relationships with colleges and arts programs.
Why This Experience Matters
Many students learn technique in the classroom, but fewer experience the full reality of sustaining a creative business. A working artist navigates far more than making art—balancing production, sales, travel, presentation, and customer interaction.
This mentorship is designed to provide a clear, real-world perspective on what it takes to build and sustain a creative career, beyond what is typically seen in a classroom setting.
Creative Process
Learn how handcrafted handbags and jewelry move from concept to finished work, including materials, design, and production workflow.
Show Life
Experience art festivals, booth setup, merchandising, customer interaction, and the physical demands of working public events.
Business Reality
Gain insight into the systems, structure, and consistency required to sustain an independent art business.
